Additional Panasonic DMR-EZ28K DVD Recorder with 1080p Upconversion Information

The Panasonic DMR-EZ28K DVD recorder is capable of receiving both digital and analog broadcasts. Even when digital signals drop out because of interference with direct signal access, which makes the picture either disappear or become filled with block noise, the Digital Tuner still produces a beautiful picture. Just slip the SD card into the slot or use the cable to connect the camera to the USB terminal, and you're ready to enjoy a spectacular big-screen slideshow with family and friends. You can even listen to music recorded onto a USB device while viewing your photos. Connect your Panasonic DVD recorder to a flat-panel HDTV via an HDMI cable and the TV channel setting information is automatically downloaded to the recorder. Once the Auto Preset Download is complete, the DVD recorder will keep whichever TV channel you're watching as its receiving channel. This means you can record the program you're watching by just pressing the Record button on the VIERA remote. With VIERALink, you don't have to worry about setting the recorder to the right channel every time you want to record something. Frequently used buttons, such as Power and Open/Close, are located at the top of the main unit (this makes them easier to see when the unit is placed in a rack, where you need to look down when operating it). 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i / 1080p only with ujpconversion through HDMI Output Image File Format - FAT12, FAT16 (SD Memory Card) FAT32 (SDHC Memory Card) SD Image File Format - JPEG conforming DCF Image File Number of Pixels - 34 x 34 to 6,144 x 4096 Inputs and Outputs - 2x LINE (pin jack) Analog Audio (2 Ch) Input, 2x Line (pin jack) Video In, DV Input Terminal, 2x S Connector S-Video In, Built-in SD Card Slot, 1x LINE (pin jack) 2ch Audio Out, Component Video Out (Y, PB, PR), and 1x S Connector S-Video Outputs Dimensions - Height 2-3/8 x Width 16-15/16 x Depth 9-13/16 Weight - 6.16 pounds

What Customers Say About Panasonic DMR-EZ28K DVD Recorder with 1080p Upconversion:

Extremely slow starting(even with "quick start). Glacial response time to remote commands, sometimes with no feedback that it is fact doing amything at all.I have heard of lawyers in this economy reduced to washing dishes. One of them ought to start a class acion suit.

For the most part - they work great. I buy DVD recorders all the time. However this model, the one I have, the timer record only works about half the time. Use for my business. I have stuck w/ the panasonic line for a few reasons. This can be a huge pain when setting it up to record something and only to come back later and find it has not recorded anything. Word to the wise.

I will have to spend $250.-$350.00 to replace one of these anyway, so I figured it's worth a try. The ONLY reason I would continue to try Panasonic is because they are pretty much the only company that puts digital tuners in their units. I may even give the dmrez28 one more try, like an idiot, but you never know and there are few options. Digital tuners began being a requirement a couple years ago for tuners, so immediately all the companies quit putting tuners in. One day it will never come on again, or else you will see "HELLO" and it is frozen on there-you will be unable to perform any function ever again. I can't get one lately to get through the channel setup process before it freezes, and will not reset. Hit OK and unit will perform self check and then restart".

This is with the two DMR-EZ28K units I've bought & returned in the last 3 days. But it's like they totally lost any technology they had used in decks before and no longer cared. Totally burned out without ever being used. The regular price at Best Buy is $249.00.

I have purchased 9 Panasonic DVRs in the last two years and only kept two because it takes many many tries before you can get one that even works. Well, 'OK' has never worked, and a self check has never taken place. I have always had to unplug and replug the unit to make it come on again. I have my year & a half-old one in a shop right now, but I am betting that I am out the $35.00 for the diagnosis, being that it will cost more to fix and would probably need a computer tech to do it. and 1 1/2 years ago (after many exchanges) were VHS/DVD recorders with tuners that have always had frequent freeze-up problems. By the way, Amazon, buyers & you resellers- this does not retail for $799.00. Panasonic was smart to corner the market this way. I do not subscribe to cable or sattelite TV, because in San Diego there are enough digital free broadcasts.

The other units that I had bought 2 yrs. The one that gave out the other day after a year & a half died during channel setup: "Operation stopped. Just make sure if you have to get one of these that you buy an extended warantee, because I guarantee you they aren't made to last 2 years. Fix your listing.

The Panasonic DMR-EZ28K is a very good DVD Recorder. It's extremely easy to program and yields an excellent picture. So far the only drawback is that it seems to take an inordantly long time to turn on. It does have a "quick-on" setting but that takes more electricity.

Summary -- This unit is easy to use and works great. The fast forward feature 2x, 10x and 30x is a great way to skip through sections of the recording. The unit is easy to setup and record directly off cable, cable box or antenna.

Tried another DVD player/recorder and found it very hard to use and the built in protection features prevented viewing DVD's that worked fine on our original DVD player. The quality of the picture is great. I started looking for a unit that would replace an old VCR and DVD player.

The built in tuner works very well and the HDMI connection is the way to go. Returned the unit and found the Panasonic DMR-EZ28K on another web site. Checked out the reviews provided on Amazon's site and it appeared to meet our needs.

Only drawback, if you remove a DVD that was only partially viewed, the unit does not remember where you lift off. If you looking for a unit to essentially replace the function of VCR, this Panasonic unit will definitely meet your needs.
